Half Moon Bay Review

Mark Kostrzewa of Montara is proud to announce his second CD.

“From Ear to There” presents 14 original, “aggressive acoustic guitar” compositions, one with Pacifica vocalist Nomi Harper. Recorded in Nashville, it was mixed and mastered by Jim Rogers at All Fogged Up Studios in Moss Beach and produced at Sienna Digital by Rainer Gembalzyk in Half Moon Bay.

The connection to Nashville began when Kostrzewa and his wife cared for many years for her aunt, who died at 93 and is memorialized on the CD in “MarthaLou.” One of Kostrzewa’s wife’s cousins had a recording studio there which they offered to Kostrzewa for a week, along with the services of three top Nashville session musicians.

“No way was I going to pass up that offer,” Kostrzewa said.

A CD release party is set for 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Old Princeton Landing at 460 Capistrano Road. Moss Beach singer/songwriter Lizanah will open for Kostrzewa, he said, adding that possibly Acoustic Guitar Magazine Editor Teja Gerken and contributing editor Doug Young will join in as well.
