I’m an original finger-style acoustic guitar player living out on the San Mateo county coastside just south of the San Francisco. Ranging in styles from new-age ambient, slide, flamenco, Brazilian, and contemporary original compositions. I’ve been playing for approximately 30 years but only recently in the last couple of years started playing out and about in the world. What a difference working a dayshift versus a nightshift graveyards makes! I’m pleased to announce the completion of my first CD of all original compositions coming out March 2009. The CD “55 Miles” was started back in August 2008 and took about 6 months to complete; 16 songs and 48 minutes of music. Of course I’m quite proud to have gotten the first one under my belt.
My styles are influenced by Michael Hedges, Pat Metheny, Lawrence Juber, Alex DeGrassi, Tommy Emmanuel, Al DiMeola , Leo Kottke and Pierre Bensusan for starters. Guinga, Baden Powell and Jobim are in the Brazilian genre. I have played a lot of venues up and down the coastside including 7th Street Montara Restaruant, Cameron’s in Half Moon Bay, Café Lucca in Montara, Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, San Benito House in Half Moon Bay, Pescadero Country Store, Gazos Grill, Chit Chat Café in Pacifica and the Bazaar Café up in San Francisco along with the occasional private gig.
2008 was a busy year with a total of 42 gigs. I often play with some other great musicians out here on the coastside along with Mike McCall in the”4th Street Experience”. Backup guitar and shared gigs with Miss Nomi Harper from Pacifica and LizAnnah from Moss Beach, CA.
